How are you able to offer 100% coverage on items?

A

We worked hard when developing the concept of Handyly to remove all the stuff we hate about home warranties. One of these items, is caps on coverage. Because we control the entire process and have a vested interest in a home's ongoing maintenance, we felt comfortable underwriting 100% coverage on all items covered by our Home Protection Plan. You are going to love this feature and so is your bank account!

I have water in my basement and don't want to file an insurance claim, will the home protection plan cover that?

A

No, the home protection plan intentionally excludes acts of god.

Q

Is anything outside of the home covered by the Home Protection Plan?

A

No, the home protection plan was intentionally designed for interior coverage only. While some preventative maintenance items do cover exterior items, the home protection plan does not.

Handyman Services

Are there things I can't use my handyman hours for?

A

Yes. While our in-house team is expansive and we have the expertise for most jobs you need to be done, per our agreement, we do reserve the right to refuse any request. In that case, we will do our best to play concierge and hook you up with a great niche contractor for the job from our network. However, any jobs not serviced by Handyly do not qualify for a use of allotted Handyman Hours. We do this because member experience is critical to us and we don't want to perform a job that we cannot be confident in or guarantee with our Home Protection Plan.

What if I don't use my handyman hours during my plan year?

A

No worries. They rollover without expiration! So long as you are a Handyly Member your hours are good with us. Use them on the go as things pop up or stockpile them for that big project.

Q

Can I gift my handyman hours?

A

Sure, you gift-giving genius! All that we ask is that the service is booked through your account and then just note that you are gifting hours with updated home address where the service will occur.

Preventative Maintenance

How often is preventative maintenance performed?

A

The Handyly team will perform preventative maintenance visits twice a year. Those appointments will be scheduled in advance. The reason we do two visits a year is so that we can perform seasonal maintenance, specifically as it pertains to your furnace and air conditioner.

Why is there a pre-inspection?

A

The pre-inspection is a vital part of our Handyly Home Care Solution because it helps us accomplish two key things. First, it allows us to assess a home to ensure that it is eligible for membership. Second, it allows us to create a baseline for a property's condition and create a record for future repair and maintenance

Why is there a $175 pre-inspection fee?

A

The $175 charge for the pre-inspection is in place to protect us from somebody simply looking for a free report. If a pre-inspection is performed and a home is approved for membership, we will apply that $175 towards your selected service. If a home is not approved, we will refund the $175.

Why are you taking 3D scan of my home?

A

Our goal is to provide an elevated home care solution for our clients. A 3D scan during the pre-inspection allows us to create an initial snapshot of the home, provides an easy way for our team to diagnose problems and ensure quality work gets done on your home. We will give you access to the 3D scan as well. It's a great feature of our service and will come in handy for all of us down the road.

Plan Selection

Why is the premium plan so much higher than the other plans?

A

The reason for the difference in pricing is directly related to the much higher maintenance and repair costs of premium appliances like Wolf, Viking and Sub Zero as well as the fact that larger homes require a dual-zoned HVAC system or higher. The cost to maintain, replace and repair these brand of appliances and systems is significantly higher resulting in a higher monthly cost for the Premium Plan. If you have had premium appliances or an upgraded HVAC system you are well aware of the cost and constant upkeep, and we are confident we are delivering you a ton of value with this plan.

Do I have to select the premium plan because I have premium appliances or a second furnace?

A

No, if you wanted to select our PLUS plan we will allow that. However, we will designated one furnace to be covered under the protection plan and institue a cap on appliance coverage per claim per year of $2,000.
